Finishings

Finishings are used to define how a product appears. By default a product is considered a "Print", but finishings for gallery wraps, frames, discs, and other options can be added and configured specifically for your lab's product lineup.

A finishing can be configured with a trim/crop area that is trimmed from the photo before any crop is applied, accounting for the actual resulting size of the photo. For example, a standard US gallery wrap has a 1.5" standout that must be allowed for if using the photo itself for the wrapped edges. Putting "1.5" for each of the top, right, bottom, and left insets will set up the finishing to accurately show any photo crop and size as a gallery wrap.

It can also be configured with a fixed-size border that is added on outside the crop area. This is used to display things such as custom frames, for which you can import an image of the top edge of the frame to get a live preview around any photo.

Adding a Finishing

Begin by tapping "Add Finishing..." in the Finishings panel.

  1. Enter a name for the finishing.
  2. Put in the measurements for each side's trim/crop margin in the fields below the finishing name. The units for this measurement depend on whether you've selected imperial (inches) or metric (centimeters).
  3. If adding a frame, tap the "Border Pattern" row to select the pattern image to be used for the border. This image should be of the top edge of the frame and will be rotated and tiled as needed to wrap around a photo.
  4. Put in the measurements for the width of the frame on each side in the last set of fields. The units for this measurement depend on whether you've selected imperial (inches) or metric (centimeters).
